Gaia was purchased as an embryo from CedarCreekGypsyHorses out of White Stone Mariah and by SD Murphy. Full sister to Cedar Creek Nyx's Chosen, she was affectionately dubbed an M&M baby after both her sire and dam, and after the candy like appearance of her embryo pic!

This has been a years long journey, first chatting with Amy Weiland about the possibility of purchasing the embryo and convincing her that we'd be the perfect home. If you know Amy, you'll know she's very particular about where her babies end up. Then we had issues getting Mariah bred and flushed due to heat/weather and timing, finally we got TWIN embryos but there no recips available anywhere in the country! So we chose to freeze them, which did decrease their viability some, but we took the risk vs losing them both.

The following year, we carefully tracked the cycles of two of our mares and implanted one embryo in each. After waiting what felt like an eternity we got the news that we had one positive pregnancy and they were holding out hope on the second. After many scans and 45 days of checking and rechecking, it was sadly determined the second embryo didn't implant. But we got one, and that's what we had originally planned on obtaining so we considered it a win!

Then, Norah, our surrogate, made us wait a grueling 352 days to finally show us what we had been waiting for! That's less than two weeks shy of a year!!

More than two full years after our journey began, we finally got our prayers answered with a big, beautiful, bay keeper filly that will forever be loved and cherished here at Baroque Feathered Farm.

We are grateful to have been allowed the honor of having a Nyx full sibling and to all that Amy at Cedar Creek has done for us. We're family now for sure and excited to share the journey of Gaia, sister to Nyx, with all of you.
